For most players, the football season is over and they are enjoying their long overdue holidays. Alex Iwobi, on the other hand, is one of the bunch who still have international duties.
Iwobi’s Nigeria are set to start their AFCON campaign on June 22 when they meet Burundi for the first game of the group stage. For that reason, Arsenal’s ace has posted an Instagram snap to show his support for his country on social media.
The Super Eagles’ ambitions are pretty high and even though their coach Gernot Rohr has tried watering it down a bit to reduce the unnecessary hype over the national team, Nigeria are pretty much one of the main competitors for the crown.
And Iwobi himself will have to play a big role if that is to come true. This Nigerian gem has had a good season for the Gunners, scoring three times and assisting seven.
