As reported by The Daily Mail, Leeds United are interested in signing Derby County forward Matej Vydra during this summer’s transfer window.
What’s the story?
The paper report that Derby could be forced to sell some of their biggest assets over the next couple of months to comply with financial fair play regulations and that includes Matej Vydra, who they rate as worth £10m.
Leeds United are one of the teams interested, according to the report, but the Elland Road side will face competition from Premier League and Championship clubs for his signature.

Would he be a good signing?
As the Championship’s top scorer last season, there aren’t many realistic targets around who could improve the Leeds first team as much as Vydra this summer.
He scored 21 goals in the second tier in 2017/18, the kind of fire power that would surely put Leeds in contention for the play-off positions at least next term.
The player has had difficult seasons in the Championship in seasons past, but he is a proven goalscorer at that level and would add the cutting edge to the Leeds attack that they have been missing. Their top scorer last season was Kemar Roofe, who netted just 11 times in all competitions, one of only two players to reach double figures.
£10m makes him a fairly expensive buy, but in the context of using him to reach the riches of the Premier League, it could pay off massively.
