A “brilliant” forward is now edging closer to a move to Ibrox this summer, with Rangers receiving a boost in the race for his signature, according to a report.
Gers planning for summer overhaul
It is set to be a summer of change at Ibrox, with interim manager Barry Ferguson set to make way for a new permanent boss, despite some promising signs during the 47-year-old’s spell in the dugout, with a 3-2 win away at bitter rivals Celtic undoubtedly the highlight.
Marco Rose is one of the latest names to be linked with a move to Ibrox, with the German coach recently being sacked by RB Leipzig, while there have also been suggestions that Strasbourg boss Liam Rosenior could be the man for the job.
Alongside the manager, a number of players could also be on their way out this summer, with striker Cyriel Dessers now all but certain to leave, while fellow forward Hamza Igamane could also be on his way out, alongside Nicolas Raskin.

Not only could there be a change in staff and players, but there is also set to be a shake-up in the boardroom, with the 49ers aiming to complete a takeover, and Football Insider have revealed they are set to have completed the deal by June.
The report also states the 49ers takeover could boost Rangers in their pursuit of Vaclav Cerny, who they are looking to tie down on a permanent basis, following an impressive spell on loan from Wolfsburg this season.
The Gers have the option to sign Cerny for £5.5m this summer, which expires at the end of May, with a number of clubs from across Europe ready to launch moves.
However, the Light Blues should have £25m to spend in the upcoming window, given the impending 49ers takeover, which means there should be more than enough money to get a deal done.

"Brilliant" Cerny becoming Rangers cult-hero
It has largely been a season to forget for Rangers, although they still have an outside chance of winning the Europa League, but the Czech forward has been one of their shining lights, scoring 11 goals in the Scottish Premiership.
The 27-year-old was lauded as “brilliant” for his performance against Fenerbahce last month, while also making headlines for his antics at Parkhead, being described as a “cult-hero” by reporter Matthew Lindsay.
It has been a solid debut campaign for Cerny at Ibrox, despite Rangers’ struggles in the Scottish Premiership, so it is promising news that a deal is now edging closer.
It should also serve the Gers well to have some continuity in what is set to be a summer of change, with the takeover expected to go through, and a number of players being linked with moves elsewhere.
